Meet the team: Victor Sijtsma

Be Empowered (label of Dynamic People) consists of a group of Microsoft Power Platform enthusiasts with an ambition to support people and organizations in their innovation process. Nice, those enthusiasts, but who are they exactly? Today it’s time for colleague number 4: Victor Sijtsma (Power Platform Consultant). Who is he? You can read it here.

No average consultant

Victor has been living in Vught (near ‘s-Hertogenbosch) for 6 years with his wife and 3 dogs. That’s quite a bike ride! “Yes, and even though my employer is located in one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands, I don’t want to exchange Brabant – and specifically ‘s-Hertogenbosch.” Graduated as a megatronics engineer, he is not the ‘average’ consultant; “But because I have so much experience in production and service companies, I often have the advantage of making the connection between business and technology.

A real expert

Victor already has quite a bit of experience in the IT industry. “At my previous employer I fulfilled the same role as a technical consultant for the Power Platform and Dynamics NAV/Business Central. And before that, as a service engineer. While visiting many different companies, I was able to take a look behind the scenes through the software we supplied. This software connected and isolated part of the customer’s process. Complete customization fully tailored to the customer.” Oh, but that’s actually a precursor to all the possibilities you’re working on with the Power Platform, right? “Yes that’s right!”

How Victor ended up at Be Empowered?

A former colleague tipped me off. Fun fact: that former colleague is now his colleague again. “He said, ‘What an employer!’, but in the right way. “Not only the level of knowledge, but also the mutual atmosphere is huge and gives me the opportunity to grow even further.” He started at Be Empowered in December 2020, and, as he puts it himself: “Still going strong! A nice energetic team that always wants to take the next step, keeps your own motivation and enthusiasm stimulated.”

Can you tell us something about yourself?

“Since childhood I have sailed in basically anything with a sail on it. I also have a number of kites I sometimes take to the beach. The power that you master (and sometimes not) is really great!” Something nobody knows about him? He has no idea, “I’m quite an open book.” If he can choose something that really gives him energy, it must be acquiring new skills: in anything. “Continuing to develop is cool, even if you only learn one new skill or fact.” And at the top of your bucket list? “A dog sledding tour through Lapland.” That doesn’t surprise us, with 3 dogs in the house ?

Finally, what is your motto?

“Enjoy the little things”. Think about the beautiful things you have every day. Big promotions are fun, but the little things make the difference.”
