Be Empowered (label of Dynamic People) consists of a group of Microsoft Power Platform enthusiasts with an ambition to support people and organizations in their innovation process. Today we introduce you to Niels Minnee: Power Platform Specialist & co-founder Be Empowered. Who he is? You can read that here.
Originally he comes from Katwijk and has been living in Valkenburg South Holland (near Leiden) for 6 and a half years now. It’s a busy life: “Both my wife and I have a challenging job and two beautiful daughters aged 5 and 2. In addition, I love to relax physically and mentally through crossfit. I do that about three times a week. If you have challenges during exercise, you can also handle your challenges at work better, in other words: Strength in your body, peace in your head.” Niels sometimes does an ice bath session: “then a fight or flight is created, a very special thing to do.”
And your studies and previous work?
“After completing a HBO education at IIE – part of the HvA – I obtained my Master’s degree in Information Science at the UvA. With a specialization in Business Information Systems.” While graduating from the UvA, Niels came into contact with a company that provides homes with domotics (home automation). “I worked there for about 1 ½ years as a project manager. After this organization stopped, I chose for Dynamic People.
From our own tube
He has been working at Dynamic People for 10 years and has done all kinds of things. “I came in as a junior consultant and worked with colleagues to get to know the approach, the different products and customers. Then I started giving training courses and later ended up in the developer’s role. I also worked with support, after which I ended up in the role as team lead. That was not quite my thing at the time, so I started working as a senior consultant. I prefer to deal with the content.” And now also set up Be Empowered, which is really cool. “Certainly, starting the Be Empowered initiative is super interesting, because I come into contact with all kinds of organizational aspects that I have never experienced before as a consultant. Our way of working is really different: short, cyclical, result-oriented with fast deliverables. “You really get energy from realizing a solution together with colleagues and the customer. It’s great to see that in such a process the customer becomes even more enthusiastic, sees potential and only wants more.”
And your favorite Power App?
We get one clear answer to that question: “Municipality of Amsterdam – Depot Management, but that also puts a lot of time, energy and work into it. We have worked hard with our GronD365 team to realize this, and we have succeeded!”
Anything else we should know about you?
We have just touched on it, Niels is very into sports and exercise. “There is nothing nicer than being able to ‘let off steam’ a few times a week by exercising. This ensures balance. I’ve been playing hockey for about 20 years, and now I’m a fan of Crossfit.” And that is certainly good for the balance!
Finally, what is at the top of your bucket list?
“Family visit Australia.” Also very cool!
